The CoVid19 Plan

Dear Sheep

“These are trying times”, how many times have you heard that phrase in the last few weeks? Probably more times then you care to admit. I have to ask myself “when are we NOT in a trying time?” If it is not Covid-19 it is a failed government budget, or high gas prices, or bad unemployment numbers, so on and so on. I am reminded of the verse in 2 Timothy 1:7 “For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.” Through regular prayer and Meditation on God’s word we will begin to see that, as the veggie tales once put it, “God is bigger then the boogie man”. We should “Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy paths.” Proverbs 3:5-6. In addition, 1 John 4:18 says “there is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear…”

Many of you know that the Shermites left for a vacation on March 11th hoping to return on March 20th. Well, by March 17th we were back in Wisconsin and never even made it to our cabin in Knoxville TN. The reality is we are not in control of today or tomorrow, but we serve a Might God who not only is in control but has ordained each day before the foundations of the world Psalm 139:16. What I want to say is don’t get caught up in the hype and hysteria. Put your faith and trust in God, study His word daily, and pray often.

I want to encourage you to seek ways to be a blessing to one another, continue to use your spiritual gifts to edify the Church. Fellowship with the brethren, and Worship God in Spirit and Truth. I will be (attempting) to release two “Zebra Pens” a week here on the Church website and with the help of others, to record two short videos to be placed on YouTube or FaceBook. In addition we will be holding a small Sunday morning service either on line or “Maybe” over the radio. I also want to encourage you to continue to tithe, or give gifts to the Church. We have provided online giving through our website, you could mail your gift to the church (635 W Oshkosh st.) or even hold on to your gift for the next few weeks until we can gather together again and hand it in the old fashion way.

Well, this should do it for the first “Zebra Pen”. Keep watching for emails and texts of how you can fulfill your responsibilities to the Body of Believers that is RBC. I love you all, Miss your beautiful faces and cant wait to (heartily) shake your hands again!!!

Love y’all

Pastor Joshua J. Sherman
